Sporting Iowa
Welcome to Sporting Iowa, the premier full-ECNL youth club in Iowa.
Sporting Iowa's foundation lies in the robust grassroots programs of its member clubs, JUSC and WDMSC, engaging thousands of players and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. The Discovery age-groups (4U-8U) from JUSC and WDMSC act as pivotal entry points, guiding players towards the Select program or the recreational pathway.
The
Select program has grown substantially, boasting over 60 teams spanning ages 11U to 19U. Led by paid professional coaches, these teams actively participate in ECNL, ECNL RL, and CDL competitions for both genders. All training activities take place at our premier facilities, including the state-of-the-art new
GrimesPlex and locations in Johnston, Urbandale, and Hidden Valley.
Established in 2014 through a partnership between Johnston Urbandale Soccer Club (JUSC) and West Des Moines Soccer Club (WDMSC), Sporting Iowa emerged as a premier soccer institution in Iowa. Affiliating with Sporting KC and joining the Sporting Club Network, the club initially fielded teams in the elder age groups for both genders. Gradually expanding, Sporting Iowa achieved full integration from 11U to 19U in 2019.
In 2020, we achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Iowa club invited to the prestigious
ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) girls program, participating in the ECNL Regional League (RL). The subsequent year marked another honor, as Sporting Iowa became the sole Iowa representative in the ECNL national platform for both boys and girls. Presently, our teams compete at both national and regional levels, alongside multiple teams in the Club Development League (CDL).
