Sporting Iowa's "Discovery" phase ignites a lifelong love of the game! 

At Sporting Iowa, we steadfastly uphold the belief that soccer, especially for the youngest age groups, should prioritize both enjoyment and player development. Under the umbrella term "Discovery," we have meticulously crafted programs tailored specifically for 4U-8U players, encompassing birth years ranging from 2020-2016 (2023/2024 season).

Driven by the expertise of Sporting Iowa, these programs find their home predominantly within our grassroots feeder clubs—namely, West Des Moines Soccer Club and Johnston Urbandale Soccer Club. This deliberate placement serves as a strategic cornerstone, allowing us to extend our services seamlessly to members across the Des Moines metro area.

Emphasizing a commitment to both enjoyment and player development, each age-group is designed to optimize these key elements. Our programming operates year-round and provides players with the opportunity for professional coaching throughout. Throughout our Discovery age-groups, we conscientiously integrate insights from progressive pedagogical literature, ensuring a comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to soccer development.
